Hello, let me introduce myself – I am a mum of one living and working on a family operated family cattle station in remote outback Australia. Over the years a few of my friends have said that I should write a blog, not because of where I live or even my awesome parenting skills, but because of my interesting take on the travelling roller coaster circus that is my life and the lives of those around me. I, like many of us, am my own worst enemy and never thought that I could pull it off. However due to a recent new friendship with one of the most utterly unique people I have ever met, I now have the confidence to start this blog. So please be gentle with me, as I pop my maiden blog cherry.
I’m sure many of you have heard the saying “not my circus……not my monkeys” – well this is something I have heard a lot over my life, as I seem to be pretty good at bearing the weight of the world and everyone else on my short little legs. Now I used to hear this expression and internally roll my eyes, saying *sigh* “yes….(whoever is di
shing out this worldly advice)….I know, I know” *sigh* – all the while immediately disregarding it. After all, I mean how could they possibly understand this enormous weight and if I don’t worry about it (or carry it around) then who will? Who else will juggle all the balls in the circus of life and how will the world continue to spin?
Well shockingly the world seems to be doing just fine since the light has clicked on and now I’ve realised that actually there may just be something to this little phrase after all. Hence the beginning of the cerebral regurgitations that is my blog – My Travelling Circus. So as I said before, be gentle with me and I hope that reading my wacky life escapades sends a little humour your way.
